The Owen Sound Attack and Barrie Colts have swung a deal, swapping first round import picks. The complete details of the trade are not known at this time as there could be multiple parts to the deal.
Agreed but remember it is still June. The price sure looks right.highstickside wrote:So...what's this do for the blueline? Any improvement over last year? You lose McGurk and Doczy and gain Stanisz, who's pretty much another McGurk--a reliable, disciplined, stay-at-home character kind of guy . Who's waiting in the wings to be the 7th D? Does DeGray keep making changes on the back end? There was some talk he wanted a 20 year old, which he now has, plus another 19 year old? What are the pairings going to look like? So many questions, so few answers!
Don't put to much into the import swap #'s , teams are getting tired of drafting players that either do not show or their agents make ridiculous demands. I refer you to Thomas Kana, his horsing around gave Futa one giant headache. You see Windsor and Guelph giving up on guys they drafted 2 years ago. DeGray will take a dart and throw it at board with the 58th pick and tell the kid to show up to camp if he wants and if he cracks the squad the Attack will pick up the tab for his flight. Stanisz is a stud and that's what the Attack need and whoever Barrie picks at 11th will have a pricetag. DeGray makes a steal here.oldref wrote:This one one the surface is questionable. 11th for 58th and a 20 year old D may with 4 seasons, 195 games and 45 points. This puts him right up there with 18 yr old Schemitsch point wise but it took him 4 yrs to do it. Unless there is more to it I don't see this as a great deal. Take the 11th pick it had to be as good as what we got.
