Assistant Coach

Postby cro on Wed Jul 21, 2010 8:23 am

Just listened to our GM ,Part time Dale talk with CFOS about looking for Assistant coaches. for a person who has Managed our team for two years now, it Sounded like he was the head of a local minor hockey group, looking for it,s coaches for the upcoming hockey season. Are we that bad , that the attack have to put out radio announcements looking for anyone with hockey experience to apply. This guy played and scouted in the NHL, where and the heck is all his connections. Maybe The Owners should put out the word for a whole new staff next year , GM and coaches, cause this guys doesn,t sound like he really wants to be here at all, even though he is only here "Parttime". Truly UNPROFESSIONAL SOUNDING.

why dont you call on all your contacts you have and get someone hired then. Would it be only acceptable to have brian burke or lou lamirello as our GM? Just because you never heard of our GM before he came here doesnt mean he has no idea what hes doing. no?

Sorry I but this is very minor league. Anyways you have an opinion and I have an opinion. both were expressed.

I don't know what Dale was thinking; with all of the experts that post here all he had to do was post on Electric Ice and he would be certian to find a more then suitable assistant coach that with all of their knowledge would push Mark out of his head coaching position in a few weeks and we would be left with the best coach in North America maybe even in the World.

read some of the posts on the noof.com about the Attack hiring process and see what out of town posters have to say.
Really taking away the creditablity of the organization in the league.

I personally have NO problem with the hiring process if it gets the right candidate for the organization. Working outside the box sometimes gets the best results.......anyway I really could care less what people in Kitchener, London and Windsor have to say about our team.

what am I reading in the Sun Times???, just returned from trip and I read that the new Assistant Coach "heard" Attack was taking resumes for the position and applied and got the job. my my, I hope he does a great job and then all the ones who said this was wrong way to fill the position, what will you say then.
myself I think filling the vacancy this way is best because if it is not open to everyone ,is that not favoritisms? I mean if my job where to become vacant at work and they just gave it to someone and not posted the job would that not be deemed as a bad thing.
I feel the Attack going against the expert's advice here is a good way to fill the position , and hopefully they have made the best choice.
If they hadn't advertised the job, who would have gotten the job??
