A few of those 18 yr olds might have to be moved if the coaching staff feels that the younger guys can fill the void. As well, if the team gets off to a fast start, that might keep everyone happy for a while so that DD can sort out the roster. Not a bad problem to have. Remember the days when the team had trouble icing a decent OHL level lineup?

DD has once again made his job harder. He is in the luxurious position of having more than enough ohl caliber players.I know from talking to him in the past he doesn't like the disention this can bring. My Question do you move multiple prospects for one star player,or do you amass more picks for a couple years down the road when we have a bigger turnover. I personally won't guess as DD has it under control. I am anxiously awaiting the season and ride to start #REDRISING

I think the answer is, both.

Two players a bit older + two or three a bit younger for picks and a player (Two deals).

Bring in a 19 year old for a 19 year old and a 17 or 18. Bring in picks with a 17 or 18 and/or a 19. Make room and get better for now and for later.

But DD does fine without my help. We'll see what he comes up with.

Who knows, maybe he can keep everyone happy? Doubtful.

Yes, he's been released.

I never got to see what he looked like beyond the videos I could dig up. Those who saw him can chime in, but they didn't seem overly impressed.

It's too bad he wasn't a better fit. He had some size....and the team looked pretty small on the ice last night.

Filyayev was like the ice last night. Slow and soft. Good for management to take care of this early, hard to justify keeping a player around when there are 2 or 3 other guys that are younger and better.

It creates a potential new opening for trade purposes.

Having said that....I would like them to hold off on trades until they figure out what they've got now.
