Three in three for the Bayshore Boys

The Owen Sound Attack are back in action with three games in less than three days this weekend, beginning with a trip down Highway 6 to square off with the Guelph Storm on Friday night.

Headlining the weekend for the Bayshore Boys though, is a nationally televised matinee against the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday afternoon at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. Fans are reminded that puck drop for Saturday’s game, which can be viewed live on Rogers Sportsnet, is set for 3:45pm rather than the normal 7:30pm.

Before the Attack play the Blueshirts though, they will look to get past the Midwest Division’s 3rd place Guelph Storm (18-14-1-3, 40 Points) at the Sleeman Centre.

A 7:30pm start, Owen Sound and Guelph meet for the 4th time in 2017-18 with the Storm currently holding a 3-0 lead in the season series.

The Attack enter Friday night’s game with a record of 14-15-1-5, good for 34 points and 4th in the OHL’s Midwest Division.

Leading the way for Owen Sound, as he has all season, is Golden Knights’ prospect Nick Suzuki. The London, ON native has racked up 47 points in 31 games on the year and is tied for 5th in the OHL’s scoring race.

The Storm counter with top prospect for the 2018 NHL Draft, defenceman Ryan Merkley. The draft eligible rearguard has 10 goals and 34 helpers on the season for 44 points, which ties him with Attack blueliner Sean Durzi for 2nd in the OHL’s defensive scoring race.

Friday night’s tilt in the Royal City will be broadcast live on Rogers Local 53 and is also available live on Kia of Owen Sound/Terry’s Trailer Service Bear Radio on 560 CFOS.

Following the game the Attack will return to the Bayshore for the aforementioned 3:45pm start against the Midwest Division leading Kitchener Rangers.

Kitchener, who is at home to Mississauga on Friday night, begins their weekend of action with a solid 25-11-2-0 record, giving them 52 points in 38 games.

The Attack will then conclude their weekend by travelling to Oshawa for a 2:05pm game against the Generals on Sunday, Jan. 7.

Owen Sound and Oshawa meet for the 2nd and final time this season on Sunday, a rematch of the Saturday, Oct. 14 game that saw the Attack throttle their Eastern Conference foes by a score of 12-6.

Fans can catch Sunday’s action live on Rogers Local 53 or by listening to Fred Wallace’s call on Kia of Owen Sound/Terry’s Trailer Service Bear Radio on 560 CFOS.

The Weekend Preview is presented by Joe Tomato’s, located next to the Galaxy Cinemas on the Sunset Strip. Attack fans can receive 50% off wings and appetizers at Joe Tomato’s following each and every Attack home game, simply by presenting their ticket stub.

This season of Attack Hockey is brought to you by Lerners Personal Injury Lawyers and Bertrand & Muzzell Paralegal Service.

Can we afford an injury because they are overtired ? I think there is a rule about playing 4 consecutive days, not sureon that but it never happens.

I know, I know....24 hour rule. To heck with that! I've given # 9 enough of those grace periods. If I see him on the ice for even one more second tonight I am officially on the replace Gill band wagon. He would not even be on the bench for the 3rd if I was coach. Take your stuff off, shower and go sit on the bus....we'll deal with you tomorrow! Sorry....I've had it with him! This is a must win, turn it around game!
My opinion and $1.60 (?) will get you a medium regular at Tim Horton's.

Syzpula was sent to the room after that penalty.. Freddy saying Beamish was out of the line up but no one really knows why.. He didnt think it was disciplinary.. Freddy also claimed Degray isin the shwa watching the game there tonight .. maybe something up..Amongst other things the coach was very frustrated with the boys today some unnamed player showed up 22 minutes late for the bus today and another left there skates in the room which thankfully was found by the trainer and Gill was very angry asking if the guys were ready to play today. Seems like today was not destined to be our day lets hope Sushko helps tomorrow and Gadj should be back sunday..

Well, the Battack are o-fer.
I didn't watch the game, but sounds like at least a few guys are in the coaches doghouse .

Is the coach finally losing his patience ?

More moves coming ?

Anyone wanting out?

Still lots of time left till deadline day.

The plot thickens. .

What I was alluding to in an earlier post happened again last night. The shot totals continue to be there but puck movement is slow, no one can strike a decent one-timer, assuming the pass gets there, minimal traffic in front of net, can anyone shoot a shot designed for deflection? The Attack make it easy on the goalies. Keep them loose with lots of low quality scoring chances. Are they that unlucky to run into that many "1st star" goaltending performances or are they creating the 1st star performances. I think more of the latter. Get some traffic and someone actually positioned for rebounds. Get dirty, not pretty. Pretty will come. Not sure what to think anymore. Hoping for the best and keep seeing the worst. My denial of futility is getting holes in it and I'm running out of patches.
