Number65, that's one way to look at it (getting rid of ex-Rangers), but you could also argue that these are players that are wanted by the teams he's trading with.

With Campbell gone, I'd think it opens up a spot for Duco and potentially Timmins this year.
But you can bet on one thing, when the Flyers finally raise the Cup, there is a very good chance it will be handed to Richards first.

What would a contending team want with a one-dimensional offensive player (which Morin is at this point) on their 4th line? It makes no sense. Sure they need cheap players to get under the cap, but wouldn't they rather get a veteran ring chaser or a proven AHL guy who has 4th line intangibles? Morin would be an even-strength liability for sure and contending teams don't want guys like that to round out their rosters.

I think they just got Morin as sweetener in a trade where they sent more NHL talent the other way.

you can teach defence, can't teach goalscoring.

You're ignoring what Chicago will need the most next season. Chicago isn't going to put out a 3rd offensive line that's a two-way liability. Atlanta might have done such a thing since they don't care too much about next year, that's where Morin had the best chance. Atlanta might have been a similar situation that we saw with Boedker and the Coyotes a couple seasons ago. Dirt cheap owner(s) who's in financial trouble and wants to put out the youngest team possible with the hope that a couple of them break-out right away.

With Chicago though it's a different story. Morin pretty much has to make their top 6 or not make it at all. They'd rather have defensive forwards with intangibles filling their 3rd and 4th lines for another deep playoff run. Players who are actually cheaper than Morin, who stands to make just under 1 mil per season for his first 3 years.

I don't really understand how he keeps getting moved around. I know he has not reached his potential but I doubt if there is a current player in the entire NHL who has been traded more often is such little time. He probably fits nicely into the 5-6 hole for New York. Maybe the old Rangers jersey will bring him some of the success that he showed in his OHL/WJ career.

He said traded, a lot of these players signed as free agents.

Eminger signed as a free-agent in Anaheim.

But, thanks for the nitpicking.

Mark Fraser has resigned with New Jersey, with a one-year contract.

And in alumni-who-never-reported news, Cam Fowler has signed a three-year entry-level contract with Anaheim.

Has anyone heard anything regarding Sean McMorrow? Last I heard was he was being charged with drug smuggling in the United States. Was it legit? Is it over? Anyone?
