Ranger's overall record under Heibert

Postby Overager on Tue Jan 10, 2017 11:03 am

I believe MH has been the Ranger's general manager for the past four or five years. Here are our overall league finish during that time.

12-13 7th place
13-14 19th
14-15 11th
15-16 6th
16-17 (ongoing) 9th

Would Ranger supporters consider this a good record? Consider that next season looks bleak.Hell, we haven't done as well as some small market teams.

But if we did better, what would you have to complain about?

number65-Regardless of what I post there is no doubt that you will find something negative in it. I'm sure it relates to me posting your statement of last year that Miller, Magyar and Henderson would be "top line players"on any other team in the league. Sure they would!
Have a look at mypost from last year saying that the Rangers, this year, would be no better than London,Erie,Windsor, Sault, Owen Sound. I'll go so far as to suggest that, next year, might be worse than this year. In two years time we might be back to the middle of the pack. How do you like them apples? Whois your star in waiting this year ? Kohn ?
Can I take it that you think that Heibert's record is good ?

Send your resume and plan to build a winner into the Rangers office.

Push Murray out the door.

Try to keep up. Murray turned Kohn into a 2nd and two 3rds this morning.

There is much talk about how well the Rangers have drafted with MH. Look at last year's European draft.
We took Schemitz (sp.) with the 50th overall pick and he has 1 goal and 2 assists. London took Kuokkanen with the 56th pick and he has 15 goals and 26 assists. Is it fair to say that we have NO connections to lead us in the European draft ? When Kitchener calls nobody answers the phone. We are in trouble !

We drafted Tomas Tatar (Now with Red Wings) who did not report and traded his rights to Plymouth for Landeskog. Now that was a great trade!

I do believe that the majority of those named were acquired under DeBoer or Spott. And the poster who mentioned that DeBoer brought Heibert with him from Plymouth I recall that DeBoer brought along his head scout, a man by the name of Sandler or Sadler, who retired a few years ago. Who was the manager or head scout in Kitchener when we selected, as our first selection, a kid by the name of Schmalz (sp.) or, as our first selection, a kid by the name of Davies. And, our European pick (Schmietz sp.) ,with his 1 goal and 2 assists, was certainly a stroke of genius. Anyway, if you think that our retired teacher is doing a great job running the Rangers then try telling that to the many fans who are expressing dissatisfaction. By the way, I dislike the London Knights as much as anyone in Rangerland, but I certainly have to admire their success under the Hunters. We should be so lucky.
