Owen Sound has traded an 18-year-old (Matthew Struthers) and two picks for OA Brett McKenzie. McKenzie has 23 points this year to Struthers' 18.

Unless he can play goal, I don't see this deal lifting them out of eighth place. Kind of silly for the Attack to be loading up now, IMHO.

It's hard to conceive how the Attack returned so many from such a strong team last year and have not been able to get things going.

Losing McNiven was tough, but with so many strong returnees, they should be doing better. Maybe it's coaching, maybe it's just inconsistent goaltending.

I agree with you Number 65, this will improve them slightly and temporarily. Likely not enough this season, but who knows. DeGray is a much smarter hockey man than I am.

For what it's worth (and some of his predictions have already been proven wrong), the OHL Prospects Blog thinks that the Rangers will do the following:

1. Pick up Dipietro and McEneny from Windsor for Richardson, Ladd and picks.
2. Pick up Sambrook from Erie for Guest and picks.
3. Waive ADB (which would also open up an OA spot).

Indeed & replacing McNiven with ...nobody was was a blatant gaffe.

A strong roster of skaters still but they sure miss Palmu, who was a huge part of last year's success, and I don't see anyone near equivalent to his level of game-breaking playmaker emerging. Centorame was another standout that put games away for OS. They seem to be cheaping out with 2017-18 moves as they continue to flounder and should probably be selling assets to reload before they too graduate with zero return.

Toadman, you're right Palmu could break a game wide open by himself. Centorame was a rock on D.

I agree, I think the Owen Sound OAs were a huge part of their success last year. Plus McNiven of course. So despite a lot of returnees they seem to have lost that “special something” that made them so strong last season. And now that good goaltenders are hard to come by, they are in a tough spot for sure.

Have the Rangers ever made a trade with London where we (Rangers) didn't get screwed?

A couple good seasons (171pts) of Chris MacKinnon for a 3rd was a win.

A couple minutes of Paxton Leroux for a 5th ... not so much

Logan Brown seems to be a major "person of interest" when it comes to Rangers trade talks. Probably depends on his injury status and of course they can't announce anything until after his World Junior tournament is done.

L.R. I realize that posters who don't have an original thought like to criticize me and now you are jumping on that bandwagon. When I talked about the Rangers lack of elite players this was prior to trading for Brown : not after that. Be fair! I'm curious, this knowledge of acquiring Brown (if it's true) was this something you were told"in confidence?" If it was then you have broken that trust to make yourself look good.
