If the Knights closed the upper deck in the JLC it wasn't for more than a few games... the first year there they averaged 7600 fans which is more than can fit in the lower deck. I'm sure a Knights fan will be able to remember if they ever closed up the top deck for a Knights game.

And . .to go into more depth

There's no need to post the rest of the seasons the Knights played in the JLC since they were routinely sellouts

What arena were you at hitek?

While I agree with some of what you have posted Hitek I will have to disagree with most.....

Here is why.....

Otto you are correct having 90% of my family from the London area I can tell you yes I do remember the Old "Ice House" and yes if you look in the dictionairy next to peice of garbage you will see its picture LOL..... Absolutely there owners are far better then Guelphs past for sure and definately this current group of soccer dads, The arena being built downtown and for the size it is (and already extremely out of date) is as much the ownership of the Storm as it is the Cities fault.... If they had ponyed up some cash instead of sitting on their broke local hands and made a few demands on what they want and were they want it rather then sitting on Mayor Farbridges big nose the Arena would be on the west end or here is another great location were it should have been right on the Hanlon in the South end or even better Right off the Hanlon at Paisley were that big empty Quary is(regardless thats debateable and for another conversation)....

Say what you want about Dale Hunter as a coach ( I am not the biggest fan either) but you cant argue that his coaching record is far better then Jason Brooks and Dave Barr will ever have and he commands and has control of his team and respect from the players and fans which is more then Brooks will ever be able to say. Hunter makes Brooks like a little baby with a soother.

As for Windsor Yes ownership is far better then Guelph and while they draft Taylor Hall and Henrique and the rest Guelph wastes their draft picks on MacNaughten and Palmeiri (who will never dress in a Guelph Storm Jersey Guaranteed!) and Again lobbied correctly for that state of the art arena which again was never done by the hand sitters of past here.

Kitchener well I have never been informed that the city owned the Rangers I would have thought it would be a bit of a conflict for them to own a private enterprise but even so if the city does own them they still seem to build a competitive team every year no I would not want the city of Guelph to own and operate the Storm Farbridge would end up shutting down the arena and trying to cancell games to save money or even better maybe they could discuss putting in a round about at centre ice because you know "they have them in Scotland you know" even still though that arena was built more then 50 years ago and still holds up better the Sleasemen Centre!

My apology Otto my intent was to point out that you are correct attendance has never been in an issue for the Knights since moving to the JLC and I can not ever recall them closing off the upper bowl I do know that it was their intention to do so a Knights games as they were anticipating similar crowds to the ICE House but thanks to the Hunters (like them or hate them) they put on a show and iced great teams sorry HiTek but untill we can say we had the "greatest junior team in history"(04-05 Knights hold the record for the most points, most wins, longest winning streak, cruised through the mem cup and playoffs etc.) then I would have to say Londons ownership and coaching is far far far better then anything the storm have ever or likely will ever produce at least not untill the Soccer Dad ownership changes and they put in place a real coach instead of a Junior B coach at best in Brooks.

"Ice House", I attended Knights games when it was the "Gardens" and it wasn''t that bad. I could always get a ticket and because attendance was on the low side I usually had plenty of room on the seat which were semi-bench style(two to a bench) if I recall correctly.

Why is anyone arguing about attendance at the JLC on the Guelph Storm Board?

I wouldnt say that were arguing I would say more envious of the London Knights and JLC I dont think there is a single OHL fan that wouldnt wish his team was managed and attended and had a facility as nice as London if they dont well then I will argue with them lol

Well those numbers are tickets sold and not butts in seats. I was to 3 games the 1st year it opened. Two in seats and
one in the owners box. All three games the upper bowl was not open.

That being said, that really was not a major part of what I was trying to convey..

Without a question I wished we had a similar sized arena in guelph. Of its size, I eny London. An arena that size
that was safer... I would prefer. How that upper bowl passes code, I have no idea. The current coach in London..
thanks... no thanks !

lol...

Tim

ps: I am off to serve my suspension.. see you guys at training camp.

Kyle Palmieri signing with the Ducks could be the first step in him landing in Guelph!

Palmieri is not bound by the same rules as canadiens. Their going to see if he can play in the AHL (which in my opinion he can) and if and only if that doesnt work out they will push him towards Guelph. It would be a huge boost if it comes to fruition.

We'll have to agree to disagree, I'm not sold on him being ready for pro hockey. Also think that the Ducks wouldn't mind having both their picks playing together.

I think he gets sent back after a short eye opening experience playing against men.
