And, it has been announced that Victor Mete will be on the opening night roster for the Canadiens.

I'm not worried. The brass ALWAYS finds a way to make it work.

My concern is the apparent trend of most of our kids not returning. We are too young as it stands, and while there is some good developing talent there, it's a year or two away from where we need to be.

I haven't thrown in the towel, just being practical. Reminds me of the team in the mid to late 90s, lots of potential, just a couple of years away. Still, always good to watch the youngins develop.

Thanks for asking about my health , waiting for more heart surgery right now , they are going to do valve repair , but I want the least intrusive operation they can do , not letting them open my chest again , and with the bypass they did in my groin area to save my right leg just a short 2 month's ago they can not go that route , just have to wait and see just what they can do to make every thing right again , sorry to hear you are having problems as well ..

Well my friend, just know that I and many of us on here and HFB are thinking of ya.

So Victor gets the season opener on Montreal. I expect he goes 9 games and possibly more. It's the more that concerns me but hey if he makes it good on him, that's what this league is all about.
Awwww crap! I should have chosen the blue pill...

Fills an overage spot. 21 points in 62 career games. Then again, 5 of those points have come in the Petes' first 3 games.

"Only" cost us a 4th round pick.

O......kay. I'll reserve judgment on this. If I'm proven wrong, I'll gladly admit I was wrong.

AND....for what it's worth, just judging by a piece on TSN on the Canadiens' preparation for their first game, they did talk about Victor Mete.

It's sounding like he may stay the whole season in Montreal.

They also talked about the nickname he has acquired:

Meat.

Meh....that works. ;)

At this point looks like some of the guys we
had hoped would be back like Mete, Crawley,
Miletic, Formenton and possibly Juolevi
won't be back. Have to adapt

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that forward Sam Miletic has been reassigned by the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL) to the London Knights (OHL).

Well....I was wrong. I was thinking we acquired Tyler Rollo because Sam Miletic was NOT coming back.

Welcome back to London, Millie! :)

Jesper Bratt's home-opener performance at New Jersey was a memorable one. He had a goal and an assist.

So, I'm now not holding my breath on Bratt coming back to London.

With all the "D" that we lost, I'm beginning to wonder if the decision to trade Nic Mattinen was a bit hasty.

Crawley was a bit of a crapshoot. With him being drafted his third time around, I figured the Rangers would want him in their system sooner rather than later.
Juolevi, I wasn't expecting back. He was either going to play in Vancouver or play pro in Finland.
Mete....played his way onto the Canadiens.

I mean...I know - hindsight is always 20/20.

The Mattinen deal came along and the Knights got a decent return. I'm ok with it. Matty wouldn't have turned this around by himself. I mean seriously what team loses 3 of its top 4 defense and still thinks it is a contender?

Look, things worked in our favour for so long, London fans seemed to have forgotten what 75% of the other teams in the league experience. Of course we didn't expect the NHL to suck the bone marrow out of the team but it has happened.

Honestly I see the Knights making some moves at the trade deadline to bolster our draft cupboard and put some bodies on the ice. Militec would look pretty good on Owen Sound's roster, maybe Jones lands in Flint?

Retool, reload, rebuild whatever you want to call it. Lets get those youngins on the ice and get them learning what this league is all about and in two years we will back. I will be in my seat whatever happens.

Junior teams go through this cycle all the time, our turn had to happen some time. Besides, if the current team gels we can make the playoffs and be a real spur under someone's saddle, do not lose faith my friends.

I think Thomas would put OS over the top , that's the trade I would make , they would get a ton of picks plus a couple players to boot ..

To dae a miracle:

Once again, you are the voice of reason. I would have said you have become the voice of reason, but you are already. :)

One likely knows my stance on Mattinen - I don't think he was given a fair shake in London. Perhaps he had requested to be traded? Who knows.

I totally agree with you about being spoiled in London for....as long as we have been at the JLC/Bud Gardens. And, like yourself, I stick by my team thru thick and thin.

This is not the first time they have started off this slow. During the game last night, the people at Cogeco....er....YourTV had a marquis of similar starts to the season for the Knights.
In one season, they did manage to pull off a 40 win season.

Honestly, before the season started, I was expecting a minor sell-off at the trade deadline. Then again, this was before the news that Formenton and Mete would be sticking with their respective big clubs.
