Pyette broke it down.. quite a bit to it.. All from his Twitter..

The conditional second pick in 2020 becomes a 2nd in 2019 if Hamilton acquires one -- so the Knights get a 2nd either way there.

The 3rd round pick in 2022 becomes a 2nd rounder in 2023 if Hamilton wins the OHL title.

So in reality, it's Thomas for McMichael plus at least two 2nd rounders -- and maybe 3 -- and two more 2nds if he's back in the OHL next year (which London brass deem unlikely).

A couple of long shots on the conditional
picks. Better chance of Thomas returning
to the OHL than Hamilton winning the title
this year. Stranger things have happened
though.
Knights basically got two very talented 1st rnd picks
in Dunkley and McMichael and a young talented import
in Popov plus some picks in these deals. Overall not a bad
haul considering none of the traded players will likely be back in the
OHL next season.

Lets go Bulldogs!

That breakdown of the Thomas deal is an eye opener.

Hmmm... we are looking a bit stronger next year than I expected. Much farther along the rebuild/retool with a fairly restocked cupboard.

I wonder if the Knights are done purging.

Popov im pretty sure if NOT an import. He was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2016 OHL draft out of the Toronto Jr. Canadians. Born in Russia, but does not count as an import.

Looking myself at next year's team.. not too shabby at all. More pieces to move this year and i hope it gets done. If the remaining valuable pieces get moved, we're looking at losing next to no one of any importance.

Knights import pick from this past CHL import draft is as high as #4 for the NHL draft this year, Adam Boqvist. Swedish D man. Chance he ends up in London, depends who drafts him and whether or not they want to assign him to London to get him more accustomed to the North American game.

After watching Brady Tkachuk play for the US at the WJHC this year, he should probably be gone from our minds as Knights fans. But, it could happen. Team that picks him might want some more seasoning out of him.

Good core moving forward. There are a total of 5 first round OHL picks on this team now.

So 2 1st plus a 2nd rnd players so far plus
what ever the picks turn out to be. D if Bouchard
returns will be excellent with Regula,Coome,
Perrott as well. Good young albeit a bit undersized
forward group going into next year. Formenton and Miletic
next?

Well....looks like we are going total rebuild. I, for one, am glad we are doing this. Might as well get something for players who we know won't be back in the OHL next season. Otherwise, we don't get ANYTHING for them.

Pu and Jones - I expected to be traded.
Thomas - caught me off guard. Dale and Rob must have the inside scoop that Thomas won't be back in the OHL next season.

OA trade deadline is noon today. We have Sam Miletic, Shane Collins and Tyler Rollo as our OAs.

About the only one that we would be able to get a decent return on is Miletic. I don't think they would have brought in Collins from so far away just to trade him.
Mind you, we do need the veteran presence for the 'new' talent coming in. Well...new to us, anyway.

Stay tuned, folks.

Oh....and, for the record, Sergey Popov is NOT an import player - even though his very Russian sounding name would indicate he would be.
He moved to Canada when he was 14, and he stayed with a billet family while pursuing his dream of playing hockey.

I've never been an optimist, but the 1% chance that Boqvist, Tkachuk and Bouchard are all in our lineup next year excites me quite a bit.

Craig Button has all 3 inside his top 10

Boqvist #2
Tkachuk #4
Bouchard #10

Regula #72

Sam Miletic has been traded to the Niagara IceDogs.

EDIT : Sorry - I forgot to state my source of this information. This is as per the Media Notes page on the OHL website.

He, along with a 3rd round pick in 2018 go to Niagara for a 2nd in 2018 (Peterborough's), a 3rd in 2022, a 2nd in 2024, and a 2nd in 2025 (all Niagara's picks).

Again, sad to see Miletic go, but of our remaining OAs, he was going to gather the biggest return.

Best of luck in Niagara, Millie! :)

This is hands down the biggest tear down in the Hunter era.

Lets Recap..

Sept. 19 - Mattinen to Flint for 2nd (2018), 2nd (2020), 3rd (2018) conditional 3rd (2019)
Oct. 4 - Rollo to London for a 4th (2018)
Oct. 17 - Raaymakers to London for Johnson. 2nd (2019), 2nd (2020), 4th (2020)
Nov. 17 - Carbonara to Niag for a 4th (2020)
Jan. 4 - Pu to Kingston for Dunkley, a 2nd (2020) and a 3rd (2019)
Jan. 7 - Jones to Kingston for Popov for a 2nd (2023) and a 3rd (2021)
Jan. 8 - Thomas to Hamilton for McMichael, a 2nd (2021) 3 conditional 2nds (2020,2025,2026), conditional 3rd (2022)
Jan. 9 - Miletic and a 3rd (2018) to Niagara for 3 2nds (2018,2024,2025), and a 3rd (2022)

London accumulates
2nd round picks in 2018(2), 2020, 2021, 2024,2025
3rd round picks in 2018, 2019,2021,2022
4th round pick in 2020
Conditional 2nds in 2020,2025,2026
Conditional 3rds in 2019,2022

11 picks in the top 4 rounds, with potential for 16 picks in the first 4 rounds

Now that all the counting is over.. who sees London actually using any of the picks in 2021 and beyond? Not me. This seems like it has the potential for a Mete/Domi deal all over again this coming summer. 3 or 4 2nds for some kid who won't want to play for the team he's drafted by, comes to London and is a superstar for 3 or 4 years and integrates into this new core of youth

I still want to see Forementon moved if it can logistically still happen. Raaymakers too

Well, that is that!

VERRRYYYYY different looking team for the second half of the season. Here's hoping we don't drop too far in the standings.

It would be nice if the youngins gel and keep station or rise, but I'm ok with whatever happens. Will be fun watching this team grow together.
