goaltender Beech

Postby cro on Sat Feb 17, 2007 11:59 pm

This kid did a hell of a job Friday and Saturday night in Owen Sound A third star and a first star. Even though he lost two games, he played incrediable. 150 shoots in two games and allowed only 11 goals. Where were you when we were looking for a goaltender earlier. Anyways great job, and appreciated by the attack fans bythe ovation given a the three star selections. Awesome work!!!!

I only saw the first 2 periods last night but Beech was solid. What impressed me the most was his rebound control through heavy traffic. Kitchener had something like 23 shots in the first period but they easily could have had at least 27 if not for Beech's solid rebound control.

The guy is a horse. That's why they got him. Too bad the defence is so bad. Hope they are learning well on the job and the Otters will be better next year.

I saw Peter Sidorkiwicz interviewed before the game and he said his goal for the rest of the year is just to instill as much confidence in the guys as possible heading into the offseason. Thats likely the reason why they picked up Beech and you'd have to think they'd feel decent about themselves walking into Kitchener and only losing by a goal. I didn't see the 3rd but if Charles Lavigne were in the Erie goal, they probably would have had 5-10 more shots against in the first 2 periods. Great rebound control on the low shots by Beech.

Beech is a great goalie...and will do great things for Erie next year+.
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.

I agree Beech is great... but unfortunatly he will not be back next season... he is in his overage year this season and is uneligible to return next. Hopefully we will see him playing pro next year.

goaltender available

Conway of Owen Sound is still available according to posters on that forum. He has a 30-17-7 record in the OHL and is from somewhere near Erie, as well as 2 selections to the US Nat'l Team.

I apologize I haven't followed that closely but is Erie still in the market for a goalie?" I thought they addressed this?
