The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League announced today that they have acquired defenseman Chris Breen and a fifth round pick in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection from the Saginaw Spirit in exchange for Jordan Skellett and a seventh round pick in 2009.

Breen, a towering 6-foot-7 blue liner from Uxbridge, Ontario, collected an assist and nine minutes in penalties in six games with the Spirit this season. The fourth year veteran has played 125 career OHL games (all with Saginaw) with a goal and nine assists for 10 points to go along with 118 minutes in penalties. The 19 year-old, who was selected 125th overall by the Spirit in the 2005 OHL Priority Selection, is scheduled to arrive in Erie for practice Wednesday and travel with the team for a three-game road trip this weekend.

Skellett, who has been at his London, Ontario home awaiting a trade since the beginning of training camp, played 93 games for the Otters collecting 25 goals and 32 assists for 57 points.
