Tyler Hostetter collected three assists to help lead the Erie Otters to a 4-1 win over the Brampton Battalion in an Ontario Hockey League game played in front of 3,353 tonight at the Tullio Arena.

Justin Hodgman, Luke Gazdic, Shawn Szydlowski and Andrew Yogan scored for the Otters, winners of five straight to improve to 19-17-2-0 on the season. The five-game winning streak is the Otters longest since winning eight-in-a-row in 2002-03.

Hostetter’s performance matched a career-high for points and assists in a game while Hodgman’s goal moved him into sole possession of fourth place on the Otters all-time points list with 187.

Derek Gregorack netted the lone Brampton goal. The Battalion are now 23-12-1-1 on the season.

The two teams were tied at one after one. Erie carried a 3-1 lead into the third.

The Otters out shot the Battalion 40-38 in the game as Shane Owen posted his fifth straight win.

The three stars of the game were all from the Otters. Hostetter was the first, Owen the second and Gazdic the third.
